Isle of Capri Casino will become Diamond Jacks Casino and Resort-Bossier CityStarting on July 31, the Isle of Capri Casino will become Diamond Jacks Casino and Resort-Bossier City. The Gaming Control Board of Louisiana had approved the sale of the Isle of Capri Casino to Legends Gaming, LLC. Legends Gaming LLC, has casino properties in other states which includes the Indiana, Nevada and Illinois. The two hundred forty million dollar deal also includes the acquisition of riverboat casino, the Isle's Vicksburg, which is expected to be approved by Mississippi Gaming Commission on Thursday. Michael E. Kelly, CEO and president of Legends Gaming said that the casino would close at three in the morning and will reopen early in the afternoon to make way for the change of casino chips and casino equipments. Legends Gaming will not have employment changes except for some employees of Isle of Capri that will be promoted to higher level. The complete benefit package will be announced at an employees meeting on July 31. Kelly said that the new management had already informed the staff that new medical insurance that will be offered at lower costs for casino workers will start as well. The new management will change the theme in the casino; the Caribbean theme will be changed and the restaurants will be renovated to serve different menus. Joe Collins, from Texas, will be the casino's general manager. |
